Nestor ManuelianDirector: Latin Dance Australia/ Modus Vivendi Dance Productions The Person Uruguayan born Nestor, started dancing Salsa in December 2002. Since then he has taken the salsa world by storm and has become one of Australia’s hottest dancers. He is renowned for his world class teaching and choreographies. Such is his popularity and quality of Work that he has been director of the top three companies in Australia, Latin Motion, Modus Vivendi and now Latin Dance Australia! He is also director of the two of the biggest Latin Dance events in Australia, Australian Salsa Classic and the Sydney International Bachata Festival. The Instructor One of the most sought after Instructors Australia has produced. Nestor stems from the Latin dance factory otherwise known as LDA. Nestor’s great ability to teach earned him the honour of teaching at the biggest salsa congresses around the world teaching all over Australia, Asia and the United States.Recognised by his ability to teach and encourage dancers in away where people excel technically but have an hour of jammed packed fun as well!Not only does he specialize in Salsa but also in Bachata, another one of his passions. The Performer Nestor made his performance debut in November 2003, where with less then a years training he placed 2nd in the annual Sydney Salsa Competition against some of Sydney’s highly decorated professionals. Nestor Performs on South Pacific Salsa Cruise! Since then he has gone on to win 8 nationally recognised competitions including the Sydney Salsa Competition for two consecutive years in 2004 and 2005 and 6 different Australian National titles, in Brisbane 2004, Sydney 2005, Perth and Adelaide 2006, and Sydney 2007. In 2007, Nestor also won his first International title, the ‘Asian Salsa Open’ in Hong Kong. Nestor’s international schedule is also highly impressive, considering his short career, with performances and workshops at all of the major congresses around the world. He has been fortunate enough to perform in cities and countries like Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Orlando, London, Rome, Milan, San Juan (Puerto Rico), Auckland, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, San Francisco, Sydney and most major cities around Australia, and has received countless invitations more. As Nestor loves the stage he also has a great ability to excite crowds whenever he MC’s for major events! The Coach/Choregrapher Nestor proved his talent for coaching and choreography when in 2005, he trained a group of his students and in only 3 months, turned them into Australian Team Salsa Champions and then led them to an amazing 4th place in the World Salsa Championships in Las Vegas, against the best professional teams from around the world. Modus Vivendi Project His coaching and choreographing skills has also given him the opportunity to coach and choreograph for the Channel 7 hit Show, ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS’ and also feature in an epsiode of TVS’s ‘Latin Dance Alive’ where he introduced Bachata to Australia. Nestor’s Modus Vivendi/LDA teams are the only teams to have represented Australia at any world Championship in the world! Katrina QuintalKatrina Quintal, Australian born and of Portugese decent, is an established and one of the longest running members of the Modus Vivendi team. Since joining Modus Vivendi in 2006, she has performed at many major international events such as Puerto Rican Salsa Congress, New Zealand Salsa Congress, Malaysian Salsa Festival, Orlando, and San Francisco. She has also performed all over Australia at Major events like the Sydney Salsa Congress, Sydney International Bachata Festival and more in cities like Adelaide, Perth, Queensland and Melbourne. Katrina is also pivotal member of the Modus Vivendi team that went all the way to the finals of the 2006 and 2007 World Salsa Championships in Las Vegas and Orlando and will doing so again in 2009. Known for her incredible flow on the dance floor and spins with such ease and precision, has body movement which is as smooth as silk and she shines whenever she dances! Katrina has won 4 National Salsa titles, including 3 with Modus Vivendi in the teams division and one with her partner at the 2007 Tropicana National Salsa Competition. One of Australia’s brightest stars, she has also taught at Sydney’s most prestigious schools such as Latin Motion, Club Salsa, Ilatin Dance and now Latin Dance Australia! |
