DJ Debelicious (QLD)

Debby Smits is a well known performer, master instructor and choreographer, event organiser, judge and director of Latin Energy Productions – the longest running Salsa school in Brisbane.  DJing has become her second passion.

Debby has been collecting latin music for a long time, especially overseas for her choreographies.  She became a DJ by accident when one of the DJ’s at the local Salsa Club failed to show up – the organisers were in a panic, so she offered to play some of her music which she had with her, only they had to show her how to operate the console, and the rest is history.

That was then, now DJ Debelicious is one of the very few female DJ’s in the Salsa scene and is one of the top Salsa DJ’s requested and invited to play at National and International congresses and Events and Salsa clubs.

Her feminine touch to her music keeps people on the dance floor, with an excellent selection of Salsa Dura, Puertorican, NYC, Venezuala, Guaguanco, Mambo, Latin Jazz, Bachata, Cha cha, Guajira, and Zouk and much more.

Always keeping her finger on the pulse and finding the absolute best selection of music.

Some of the Events are: Sydney Salsa Congress 2010, 2011, 2012, Malaysian congress 2010, New Zealand Congress 2011, 2012. Adelaide Salsa Festival 2010, Melbourne Latin Festival 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013,2014 of course Doudoule 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and this year.
