Les Saldez

With parents from Sweden and Argentina, he was destined to have a unique flavour to anything and everything he did in his life. Never having any real formal training, he began dancing when he was 21.

His first love was Hip Hop, and with that love and passion for dance, he began dancing with Industrie One. He competed and won in State and National competitions with his dance crew and their unique styling. He has also put his skill and passion to good use conducting Hip Hop Dance workshops for schools in the Logan area, and Dance lessons for youths in recreational centres in Brisbane.

After a recent trip to Colombia and the Dominican Republic, however, life in the dance lane was about to take a very sharp corner. Whilst out one night, he was talent spotted and asked to perform for a weeklong show in a prestige nightclub in the Dominican Republic. There he would dance his own smooth flavour of Hip Hop infused Latin, which simply drove the audiences wild.

With this newfound love and passion for all things Latin, he returned to his roots and home to start dancing with Latin Steps Dance Company. Dancing all styles from Salsa to Bachata and Zouk, each week he works on perfecting his routines. He has already performed at this year’s inaugural Melbourne Latin Festival alongside some of the world’s best Latin performers.
