Smooth Latin Groove was founded by Ian Corbett in 2005 as a result of many years of dancing, teaching and performing. SLG’s specialties include a variety of Latin styles, including Linear Salsa (on 1 & on 2), Zouk, Gafieira Samba, Bachata, and Linear Cha Cha Cha.

Smooth Latin Groove is a pioneer of Zouk dancing in Australia, and has produced unique media resources for Zouk as well as other Latin dance styles. At Smooth Latin Groove, people are taught in a warm, friendly and inspiring environment by expert instructors who take as much pride in the art of teaching as they do in the art of dancing.

Ian and his team have travelled to South America, North America and Europe to learn from the world’s best. They bring modern style together with elegance and finesse, and skilful intricacies together with sophistication, making them some of the most sought-after performers and Latin dance instructors around Australia.

Smooth Latin Groove team and professionals have performed and taught at international events, such as Sydney Salsa Congress (2005-2009- 2010), Hong Kong Salsa Festival (2007, 2009) and India International Salsa Congress (2008), as well as Australia’s top Latin dance events. Some of SLG’s recent national appearances include Adelaide Salsa Festival (2009), Caliente Latin Fiesta (2007, 2008), Queensland Titles Salsa Championship (2008 – 2009), Byron Bay Latin Fiesta (2007) and Darling Harbour Latin Fiesta (2006).
